Este per\u00edodo fue testigo de cambios fundamentales tanto en ecosistemas terrestres como marinos, destacando especialmente el auge de los mam\u00edferos, aves y reptiles.<\/p>\n<p>En los ecosistemas marinos, los cet\u00e1ceos experimentaron un notable desarrollo. Este grupo, que incluye ballenas, delfines y marsopas, se diversific\u00f3 ampliamente, adapt\u00e1ndose a diferentes nichos ecol\u00f3gicos en los oc\u00e9anos. Al mismo tiempo, la Fauna del Ne\u00f3geno terrestre fue igualmente din\u00e1mica.<\/p>\n<p>El grupo de aves m\u00e1s diverso y exitoso de este per\u00edodo fueron las paseriformes, conocidas como p\u00e1jaros cantores. Su capacidad de posarse en las ramas y su distintiva habilidad para cantar no solo les permiti\u00f3 desarrollar complejos rituales de apareamiento, sino que tambi\u00e9n les asegur\u00f3 una amplia distribuci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica. Este grupo comenz\u00f3 a consolidarse y expandirse r\u00e1pidamente durante el Ne\u00f3geno, adapt\u00e1ndose a distintos h\u00e1bitats.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso de los mam\u00edferos, la diversificaci\u00f3n fue a\u00fan m\u00e1s pronunciada. Las familias Bovidae (cabras, ant\u00edlopes y ovejas) y Cervidae (ciervos y venados) ampliaron significativamente su distribuci\u00f3n, aprovechando los paisajes abiertos que comenzaron a surgir debido a la expansi\u00f3n de las sabanas. Los grandes mam\u00edferos, como elefantes, mamuts y rinocerontes, alcanzaron un notable desarrollo, aunque algunos de ellos no lograron sobrevivir hasta la actualidad.<\/p>\n<p>La fauna del Ne\u00f3geno tambi\u00e9n marc\u00f3 el surgimiento y evoluci\u00f3n de importantes carn\u00edvoros. Los felinos, caninos, hienas y diversas especies de osos comenzaron a establecerse como depredadores clave en sus respectivos ecosistemas. En paralelo, los primates experimentaron transformaciones significativas en su evoluci\u00f3n.
